1. Labels are being printed from multiple workstations throughout our facility and it’s a mess to manage. What can I do?

TEKLYNX has a solution to move control from the shop floor or individual work stations to a truly centralized server-based solution that can be as stringent or flexible as you need. IT Managers can centralize the security controls for label designs, materials and documents in any environment.

If you have standardized on TEKLYNX label design software and want to be able to add a complete framework for security, traceability and version management, our solution is an easy choice.

Step 1 – The first thing you’ll want to do is upgrade all of your locations to our latest version. While this may seem like a daunting task, it’s not. The latest version of our label design software will not only allow for a centralized solution, it’s the only one that can move to automated print management when you are ready.

Step 2 – Next, you’ll want to install and set up LABEL ARCHIVE on a server. Setup for LABEL ARCHIVE involves a one-time configuration of users (for security), transfer of label designs from the current location to the database, and selection of options (version control on or off, history tracking on or off, etc).

LABEL ARCHIVE Server

LABEL ARCHIVE is a server application around a centralized SQL database where all the labels are stored as objects. LABEL ARCHIVE handles version control, client access (through user management), complete history records, and complete logging and documentation trail of who did what, where, and when.

Once installed, LABEL ARCHIVE offers many benefits:

  • Label design templates are centralized and under control and backup of the IT department.
  • Only users with “Design” rights can submit label design template changes to the system.
  • Only approved labels can be printed. Template changes do not become live until your business rules are followed. You must designate at least one approver and he/she will be emailed when a design change is made.
  • Complete traceability of template changes, print requests, approvals, etc. Even the user and workstation are tracked.
  • Reprints and test prints can be uniquely identified through watermarks to prevent errors.

2. We are installing a new system and want to implement a label printing solution that is both flexible and scalable. Is there a solution that is compatible with what we have today and can grow with my needs?
