I am getting Error 1800: (Filename) is missing messages or Error 1118: unable to open file messages when I open my existing label file. How can I resolve this? |

If you have just upgraded or reinstalled LABELVIEW and see the error messages above, refer to How can I avoid losing user-specific settings when I upgrade or reinstall LABELVIEW?.
If you have not just completed an upgrade or reinstallation, read the information below.
If you are trying to access a file you built on one machine from a different machine or location, follow the steps below to correct the error messages.
Error messages like the ones above are typically caused by a change of directory locations or names on the local system. You can correct this problem by following the steps below:- Once you have LABELVIEW open, select Options > Directories.
- The Directories configuration dialog will open. Click the Browse button to select the location of each type of objects you use on your labels. Be sure to verify each directory is correct.
- Click OK to save your changes and exit the Directories configuration dialog.
If the above steps do not resolve your problem and you are accessing files in network locations, be sure you have read and write permissions to the network locations.
