Does LABELVIEW monitor changes in a database in real-time?
LABELVIEW has an option called "Refresh ODBC data when printing" you can use to determine whether LABELVIEW uses a snapshot of a database (taken when the label file is opened) or has the ability to refresh the data every time you browse the data or run a print job.
  1. On the LABELVIEW file menu select Options > Configuration.

  2. The Configuration dialog box will open. The "Refresh ODBC label data when printing checkbox is located on the lower right.
NOTE:

  • If you deselect the "Refresh ODBC data when printing" option, the ODBC connection will be opened only once (when the label is loaded). This means that any data that was added or changed in the database after the label was open will not be available in LABELVIEW until you close and re-open the label file.

  • If you select the "Refresh ODBC data when printing" option, LABELVIEW must close and re-open the ODBC connection to the datasource every time you browse or print. Activating this option will slow down LABELVIEW's performance.
